February 16, 2026Better Together: how the festival is amplifying what already exists
This year’s festival has invited existing programs and community rhythms into a shared space.
Across the Orana, quiet acts of care are already happening every day.
Playgroups that support families. Community gatherings that hold grief and conversation. Local initiatives built slowly through trust, relationship, and presence.
Take a regular Wednesday for example, when Lorna Brennan and Jo Efoti already sit alongside families through the School as Community Centre playgroup at Buninyong Public School — a trusted environment of support for parents and children.
During festival week, that same Wednesday rhythm continues, just in a different location.
The playgroup will begin at The Greens just as it always does — familiar, welcoming, grounded in care.
And from that space, another layer gently opens: the introduction of an Every Woman Circle and the topic: Our Inner Chaos

Not a separate program.

Not something imposed from outside.

But a natural extension of the relationships already there.
And when the session is done, women can engage with the services or activities around them - or not - they can just hang out if they want. They continue to time for themself.
On Tuesday, the Every Woman Circle will host the launch of the Dead End Coffee Club in Dubbo, expanding an initiative that already exists in Narromine and welcoming it into a wider regional conversation.
These moments reveal the deeper intention of the festival to create spaces that improves the wellbeing of our whole communities by being Better Together.
Regional Needs
Our region is filled with remarkable individuals, groups, and organisations that work tirelessly to improve the health, happiness, and well-being of our people. Yet still the need is great.
We know that expanding access and reducing barriers are key to addressing these challenges. Yet too often our collective of remarkable, exhausted people work in silos, competing for the same limited resources to target the same end user.
Festival Director, Sharon Quill of Social Gain, hopes that by creating the space for our experts, services, businesses, and leaders across sectors, to partner up like on events International women's Day, we can reduce resources and excess, improve access, exceed performance goals, and most importantly, make the greatest positive impact on people in our community.
